Whether a home fire affects one family down the street, or a hurricane impacts millions, the American Red Cross must be ready to provide immediate care and comfort to anyone in need. In the U.S., the Red Cross responds to an average of about 65,000 disasters of all sizes each year - providing safe shelter, hot meals, emotional support and resources to aid in recovery. Corporate, foundation and organizational members of the Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program (ADGP) and Disaster Responder Program pledge essential contributions in advance of disasters, powering our organization with strong infrastructure, trained volunteers, innovative technology and critical resources necessary to provide immediate relief and support to those in crisis. This support also means we can stand with survivors and their communities as they begin to recover, and help families and communities become better prepared and more resilient ahead of the next disaster.
Mission Leaders recognize our corporate and organizational donors giving at the highest levels. In addition to in-kind and financial, including customer donation programs, their employees are engaged volunteers and blood donors. Their support drives innovation and advances the Red Cross mission to alleviate suffering in the face of emergencies.
No one is immune to home fires. They can strike you, your loved ones, neighbors and colleagues – any one of us at any time. In fact, every eight minutes, the American Red Cross responds to a devastating home fire or other disaster. Through our Home Fire Preparedness Campaign, the Red Cross and our partners are aiming to reduce deaths and injuries caused by home fires by 25 percent over the next five years. We are asking every household in America to join us in taking two simple steps that can prevent home fires and save lives: test your smoke alarms monthly, and practice fire drills at home.

As part of the Home Fire Campaign, every spring, the Red Cross will rally volunteers to Sound the Alarm and install 100,000 new smoke alarms nationwide, saving lives in some of the nation's most at-risk communities. At the same time, we will raise home fire safety awareness through national marketing and media, and we will build on the spring events by continuing to install smoke alarms and educate the community members year round. You can sponsor our Sound the Alarm efforts and receive premiere ongoing visibility while helping fight people's biggest disaster threat.
Every day across America, men and women answer our nation’s call to military service. Wherever these military members are, they have one thing in common—they know they can turn to the Red Cross for help. As the nation’s longest standing organization serving America’s military families, we are uniquely equipped with a global network of thousands of volunteers and employees to support the military 365 days a year through emergency communications, training, support to ill and injured service members and veterans, and access to community resources. Members of our SAF Giving Program stand with the Red Cross as we help military members, veterans and their families prepare for, cope with, and respond to the challenges of military service.
None of us can erase the unique challenges that military members, veterans and their families face, but we can ensure that they never face them alone. Donors that commit $250,000 or more annually to Red Cross Service to Armed Forces are recognized as SAF Giving Program members and receive high levels of recognition in channels that reach military members and the general public. Every two seconds, someone in America needs blood. Each day, the American Red Cross is helping to save lives by meeting this ongoing need in communities across the country–providing lifesaving blood and blood products to thousands of individuals who need it to survive: cancer patients receiving chemotherapy, surgery patients, accident victims and mothers giving birth.
