Red Cross Volunteer
My name is Heather, and I started volunteering with the Red Cross in December of 2023 after transitioning out of active duty. As a service member, I was a recipient of Red Cross services after a catastrophic event, so I always knew that I would pursue volunteer opportunities with the Red Cross once I transitioned from active duty. In my current day job, I’m a program manager for Box. Outside of work, I enjoy volunteering with the Red Cross’s Employee Engagement Team and my local Red Cross chapter's Disaster Action Team. I'm also a volunteer adoptions coordinator and dog walker for a local dog rescue, long-time blood donor for the local blood bank, and college-help and career-planning mentor through a program called UStrive. When I'm not working or volunteering, I love reading, spending quality time with friends, and am always up for hanging out on the couch with my dog and indulging in the latest reality tv series.
