Courses

Learners begin their self-directed certification with a flexible and adaptive, didactic eLearning course taken at a time and day of their choosing. Upon successful completion of the eLearning course, learners schedule a private skills session with the Elevate SMART Manikin and tablet. After successfully passing all required skills, learners automatically receive their certification card by email.

Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED

The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED blended learning course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults, children and infants. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the self-directed skills session. Upon successful completion, a valid 2-year digital certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED is issued.

Adult First Aid/CPR/AED

The Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the self-directed skills session. Upon successful completion, a valid 2-year digital certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED is issued.

Adult CPR/AED

The Adult CPR/AED course equips students to recognize and care for a variety of breathing and cardiac emergencies involving adults. It is designed for students who need a certification that satisfies OSHA workplace or other regulatory requirements. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the self-directed skills session. Upon successful completion, a valid 2-year digital certificate for Adult CPR/AED is issued.

Basic Life Support*

The Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult child and infant patients. This class is taught in a blended learning format and the online portion (accessed via mobile desktop or tablet) must be completed prior to attending the self-directed skills session. Upon successful completion of the course learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate with anytime anywhere access to certificate and training history. In support of improving patient care, American Red Cross is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

The American Red Cross is an accredited provider of continuing education by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE).

Advanced Life Support* Coming Soon to SMART Manikin

The Advanced Life Support (ALS) blended learning course provides healthcare providers the knowledge and skills necessary to assess recognize and care for adult patients experiencing life threatening medical emergencies. Consistent with the American Red Cross Focused Updates and Guidelines the ALS course emphasizes providing high-quality care and integrating psychomotor skills with critical thinking and problem solving to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. The online portion of the ALS course features adaptive learning technology which offers a personalized focused learning experience for each participant. Participants must successfully complete the online portion of the course including the ALS Team Response Scenarios at the end of each lesson and the final written exam before attending the self-directed skills session. In support of improving patient care, American Red Cross is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

* AED can be added to BLS, ALS and PALS. Obstructed Airway can be added to BLS with AED. These skills can only be assessed with the Elevate SMART Manikin Plus.
