WHAT:
The American Red Cross of Northwest IL is relocating the shelter from 507 E. Taylor Street to DeKalb Park District Sports & Recreation Center located at 1765 S 4th Street.
On Wednesday, more than 100 people were displaced due to a fire in the 800 block of Ridge Drive.
Today, a separate fire in the 900 block of Greenbrier Road displaced 14 families.
Volunteers with the American Red Cross continue to provide immediate assistance to those affected by both fires, including information about recovery services, health and mental health services.
WHEN:
Thursday, July 11 at 5:00 p.m.
The DeKalb Fire Department has arranged transportation for affected residents to the shelter. A bus will depart at 5 p.m. from 930 Greenbrier Road.
In addition, members of animal control are already at the Greenbrier location working closely to provide shelter for pets.
