Red Cross Closing Reception Center and Shelter as Residents allowed to Return Home
Red Cross volunteers have been assisting residents impacted by an industrial fire in Morris, Illinois. Since Tuesday, our volunteers have provided a safe place to stay to evacuated individuals. Red Cross volunteers also provided disaster support services, including health services and spiritual care to those affected at the Reception Center and shelter that was set up at First Christian Church. In addition, the Red Cross worked closely with partners to provide meals, snacks, water to residents and first responders.
As local officials are allowing residents to return to their homes, the Reception Center and the shelter will be closing on Friday, July 2nd at 5 p.m.
Distribution of Cleaning Supplies
The Red Cross along with partners will be supporting cleanup efforts by distributing cleaning supplies, including dish soap, gloves, masks and buckets to those impacted.
