FORT WAYNE, February 9, 2024 — The American Red Cross Indiana Region is pleased to announce Jennifer S. Sexton as the Northeast Chapter’s new executive director. Sexton will step in her new role on February 12.
Prior to joining the Red Cross, Sexton was Director of Collective Impact and Communications for United Way of Charlote County in southwest Florida. In that role she advanced collective impact strategies across health and human service agencies, demonstrating her capacity to build bridges and drive collaborative change.
Sexton’s professional experience also includes serving as Public Information Officer for the State of Florida. Additionally, she developed and supported several disaster preparedness healthcare coalitions across the southwest Florida region.
“Jennifer’s work in the non-profit and public sector demonstrates her commitment to community service. We are confident that her professional experience and expertise will further strengthen the work for the Red Cross in the Northeast Chapter.” Said Terry Stigdon, chief executive officer of the American Red Cross Indiana Region.
Her professional achievements include developing the state of Florida’s first HIV Prevention evaluation and the first Senior Community Health Assessment.
Sexton, a native Hoosier, earned her bachelor’s in Media and Public Communications from Purdue University Fort Wayne. She also holds a master’s in Communications.
