The American Red Cross is closely monitoring the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and following the latest guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The Red Cross created health and safety information in various languages to promote safety in communities in Massachusetts.
The Red Cross Disaster Mental Health program will offer several interactive Webinar presentations to help small business owners and their employees. The presentation is titled “Coping and Self-Care During Stressful Times” and will be led by Red Cross volunteers who are certified mental health practitioners.
This presentation will help participants identify the signs of stress they may experience during the pandemic and other difficult situations and identify coping strategies that may help them to deal with stress. It also introduces the concept of self-care and provides several ideas for caring for oneself during the pandemic.

The course is designed to help anyone impacted by COVID-19 to build resilience and lend support to others during and after this time. Topics, developed with the expertise of the Red Cross Scientific Advisory Council and the Canadian Red Cross, include recognizing stress as well as caring for yourself while supporting your family and coworkers.
The American Red Cross of Massachusetts operates a food pantry in Boston and a Mobile Market program for eligible families and individuals to alleviate food insecurity and enable thousands of families in need of access to nutritious food.
The American Red Cross Food Pantry continues to operate and provide expanded food distribution services under new safety measures during the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. These safety measures include temperatures screenings for volunteers, wearing of face masks, and social distancing to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus during pantry operations.
The Boston Food Pantry is located at 1033 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston. Hours of operation are every Wednesday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. There is drive-up service available, entering Proctor Street at its western entrance.
