Melanie Tschida began her journey with the American Red Cross in 1993 volunteering as a summer intern. Later that year, she joined the staff as the Assistant Director for the Southeast Minnesota Chapter. Throughout her career, Melanie has been actively involved in teaching classes, responding to disasters, donating blood, raising funds, recruiting volunteers, strategic planning, and leadership development. Since 2003, she has served as the Executive Director for the American Red Cross in Southeast Minnesota and now holds that position for all Southern Minnesota. Additionally, she was the Regional Executive for the Southern Minnesota Region from 2007 to 2014. Melanie holds a B.A. in Communications from Winona State University and an M.A. in Philanthropy and Development from St. Mary’s University. She resides in Rochester with her husband and two children.
