Montana Red Cross Executive Director Diane Wright loads water and snacks. Albertsons donated the items that will be given to families displaced by an early morning Great Falls apartment fire.
Montana Red Cross volunteers provided food, lodging and other support to 21 families following an early morning fire at the Glacier Apartments in Great Falls.
Red Cross put the families up at local hotels, giving them a safe place to stay while also keeping social distancing measures in place. They also worked with local restaurants to provide meals, and Albertsons donated water, drinks and snacks.
Red Cross helped clients replace medications and items like eye glasses and connected them with mental health services and other community resources.
Last year, the Montana Red Cross provided food, shelter and support to 566 people following a disaster, most of them home and apartment fires.
