Tim’s Red Cross journey began as a disaster volunteer following 9-11 in 2001 in East Central Ohio. In 2016, he was named Community Disaster Program Manager and most recently served as Senior Community Disaster Program Manager for the Central & Southern Ohio Region. I got the call to join the Red Cross on the way back from a mountain bike trip in PA. We stopped visited the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA and saw Red Cross volunteers serving on one of our nation’s most difficult days—I knew then I was exactly where I was meant to be.
Tim brings more than two decades of leadership experience across the nonprofit and business sectors. Prior to joining the Red Cross, he spent 10 years with the American Cancer Society as a Senior Manager (2005–2016), where I built a strong track record in relational sales, team leadership, and revenue growth. Tim led a team across 14 counties and oversaw 35 events that drove top fundraising performance in the region. He also had the opportunity to work with Big Brothers Big Sisters, further strengthening my commitment to community impact.
“Returning to lead the chapter where I started feels like coming full circle,” Tim said of taking over the executive director role. “I’m passionate about building strong teams, connecting people to meaningful service, and taking a ‘boots on the ground’ approach to leadership. I look forward to working alongside our staff and volunteers to grow our impact and better serve our communities.”
Tim grew up in New Concord, Ohio, and now lives just east of Newark with his wife, Bonnie, and their two shepherds, Frank and Hank.

It’s easy to get involved with the Red Cross in Ohio. Local opportunities include becoming a trained disaster relief response volunteer helping people affected by home fires; supporting trauma, cancer, and other patients in need by donating blood, platelet, and plasma at our area blood drives; and learning CPR, First AID, and other lifesaving skills that will prepare you to respond to emergencies.
