The 25th American Red Cross Humanitarian of the Year Celebration, hosted by NBC 4’s Kerry Charles, 10TV’s Yolanda Harris, and ABC 6/ FOX 28’s Stacia Naquin will take place virtually on March 23, 2021 from noon to 1pm. Presented through the generosity of Nationwide, a dedicated Red Cross corporate partner, the virtual event will honor Dr. Amy Acton and the brave men and women in health care who work tirelessly to ensure the safety of our community during this pandemic.
“We’re proud to support our long-time partner — the American Red Cross — and the commendable 2021 Humanitarians of the Year,” said Nationwide CEO Kirt Walker, who also serves on the American Red Cross Board of Governors. “We’re grateful for the brave men and women on the front lines of health care who, at great personal risk, are serving their community and their fellow citizens in extraordinary ways during these challenging times. They’re not only humanitarians, they’re our heroes.”
During this virtual event, to be held on the GiveSmart virtual fundraising platform www.togetherohio.givesmart.com, personal stories of the great work and sacrifices made by our healthcare professionals to keep us safe during this pandemic will be shared. You’ll hear remarkable stories from Memorial Health, Mount Carmel Health System, Nationwide Children’s Hospital, OhioHealth and The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Dr. Amy Acton. The event is free to watch online.
Since 1997, the American Red Cross of Central Ohio has honored local individuals who exhibit great humanitarian concern and who have made our community a better place to live and work.
