The American Red Cross in Rhode Island is thrilled to announce a new office location at 100 Niantic Avenue in Providence. To celebrate, the Red Cross will be hosting an Open House and Ribbon Cutting event on October 23, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
“The new location on Niantic Avenue provides easy access for rapid response to any local disaster,” said Susan Roberts, Executive Director, American Red Cross in Rhode Island. “We are pleased with the new state of the art technology, improved training space and multi-functional work hub. It is wonderful to have a well-coordinated place for our volunteers and staff to prepare, respond and assist our state in recovery efforts when needed.”
The Open House will be held Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. A tour of the new facility will be offered, and guests will also have the chance to meet key staff and learn how the Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies.
The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Dignitaries and special guests, including Lt. Governor Dan McKee, will provide brief remarks at 4:30 p.m. Refreshments will be provided throughout the day.
