Two Nashville Area Families Make Generous Donation to Help Continue Lifesaving Mission
NASHVILLE, Tenn., (May 26, 2021) - On Friday, May 28, the Nashville Area Chapter of the American Red Cross will host a naming ceremony in Nashville, Tenn. to recognize Randy and Jennifer Wolcott and Joel and Lisa Williams for their generous donations to the blood donation center and the blood donor intake area at the site.
The donations will enable the Red Cross to collect much needed blood donations in communities and will be sent to area hospitals for patients.
To recognize and honor their generous contribution, the Tennessee Region Red Cross will dedicate their Nashville Area Chapter fixed blood donation center and blood intake area after the Wolcott and Williams families. Chris Hrouda, President Biomedical Services for American Red Cross National Headquarters will also be on hand for the dedication.
The newly named Randy and Jennifer Wolcott Blood Donation Center is made possible by a generous gift from the Wolcott family, longtime supporters of the American Red Cross. Mr. and Mrs. Wolcott are avid supporters of the Red Cross. Jennifer has served on the local Red Cross board of directors since 2011 in Nashville. She has taken on multiple leadership roles including chairing the Williamson County Breakfast event, past chairman of Tennessee Tiffany Circle and current Tiffany Circle National Council member for American Red Cross. Jennifer is very active in the Tiffany Circle with mission engagement and new member recruitment. She has also been on the front line of responding to disasters as a disaster response volunteer. Mr. Wolcott is currently serving as the Community Volunteer Leader for the Nashville Area Chapter of the Red Cross.
The Joel and Lisa Williams Blood Donation Intake Center will be on the front line of connecting our blood donors to our donation center. The Williams have been supporters of the American Red Cross of Tennessee Region for many years. Mrs. Williams joined the Tiffany Circle in 2017 in Tennessee and is a frequent blood donor. After contracting Covid-19, Lisa donated convalescent plasma to help treat patients in hospitals with the virus. She is now a blood ambassador in Brentwood for the Red Cross. The Williams gift helps the Red Cross continue the vital mission of supply blood products to area hospitals.
“The Red Cross relies on the generosity of donors, like the Williams and Wolcott families every day,” said Joel Sullivan, Regional Executive for the Tennessee Region. “We are so grateful for their continued support and contribution to the programs and services this gift will bring to our community.”
