The Red Cross Until Help Arrives course developed in collaboration with the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) will educate and empower you to take action and provide lifesaving care when you are the first on the scene during an emergency. This non-certification online course will provide the general public with the basic yet critical key actions that can be taken during a life-threatening emergency that can help sustain or save a life until EMS arrives. In this course you will learn compression only CPR (no breaths) to save or sustain a life gain knowledge on where to find and how to use an AED identify and treat a choking incident and quickly recognize a choking situation. Learn proper treatment for life-threatening bleeding how to use pressure to stop bleeding as well as how to use a tourniquet and proper treatment after the bleeding stops and understand how to administer naloxone in an opioid overdose. Please note that this course does not meet OSHA requirements for workplace certification. If you are seeking a 2-year Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED digital certificate that is OSHA compliant and meets other workplace and regulatory requirements we recommend enrolling in either an Instructor-led Training or Blended Learning course for First Aid/CPR/AED.
