The American Red Cross has always been a part of Andrea Davis’ life; her Red Cross story started when she was a teenager when she trained to be a life guard participating in the Red Cross’ CPR and First Aid classes. She attributes the lifesaving skills she learned from the Red Cross to give her the confidence to administer CPR and save her own young son’s life when he nearly drowned years later.
Andrea has served on LA Region Red Cross Board for the past six years where Andrea has chaired the Humanitarian Services Committee, served as a Regional Vice-Chair and served as Chairman of the Board for the LA Region from 2016-2018. Andrea has been a member of the LA Region Tiffany Circle for the past five years and was selected to serve on the National Tiffany Circle Council where she participates in the Communication and Membership Committees. Andrea is a Disaster Action Team (DAT) member and enjoys supporting the LA region with their home fire response efforts.
Andrea has had a 20 year career in the field of Emergency Management. She is currently the Director of Global Crisis Management and Business Continuity for The Walt Disney Company. There, she leads an enterprise-wide department responsible for developing and implementing culturally-relevant emergency management training programs, exercises, crisis and family assistance operations and employee preparedness initiatives across the globe.
Prior to Disney, she served as the External Affairs Director for FEMA’s Louisiana Recovery Office. There, she oversaw all media, intergovernmental and congressional activities for one of the U.S.’ largest disaster recovery efforts, with a total recovery portfolio of over $25 billion.
Andrea holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and a Master of Science in Public Health. She was a 2013 inductee to the Women’s Emergency Management Hall of Fame and was selected in 2018 to be the Inaugural Emergency Manager of the Year by the International Association of Emergency Managers.
