Jennifer McGrath describes herself as a ‘hands on’ volunteer. Her work with the American Red Cross began when she and her husband relocated from the East Coast to St. Louis. In their new community, her husband encouraged her to ‘sign up’ and become a volunteer for the local St. Louis Chapter of the American Red Cross. Armed with a strong public relations and marketing background, she began working in communications within the local chapter. However, Jennifer quickly transitioned to serve on the Red Cross Disaster Action Team (DAT) - which paralleled with the mission work she has carried out with her Church. Since joining as a DAT member, Jennifer has been deployed from Houston, Texas to communities throughout Louisiana following disastrous hurricanes. Jennifer is also committed to volunteering in her local Sound the Alarm campaigns.
Jennifer currently sits on the St. Louis Board of Directors for the American Red Cross. She is also on the Board of the St. Louis Zoo. Jennifer also provides pet therapy with her beloved dog at local nursing homes and hospitals. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Jennifer and her husband, Jim, live in St. Louis full-time. They have three adult children, and two grandchildren.
