These courses teach participants how to build their own and others’ resilience.  Attendees learn to use psychological first aid to support themselves and others, help children cope with stress, locate resources and make referrals when needed.

Designed to build effective communication skills with particular emphasis on transition points and the stress they can bring.  This module topic helps participants learn ways to communicate verbally and nonverbally as well as how to interpret and respond in positive ways to achieve a healthy outcome.

To help participants understand the difference between health and unhealthy stress levels.  Participants learn to recognize and manage stressors in their lives, particularly those related to transition and change.  They also learn the physical and mental health consequences off allowing stress to build as well as some effective ways to address it.

This workshop offers a chance for participants to build on their personal strengths and increase their ability to address the issues of children’s adjustment to the numerous transitions throughout military life. Information about development considerations and family dynamics are provided in the activities designed to help adults connect with children.  Information is geared towards children 0 - 18 years old.

This workshop was developed in collaboration with the Elizabeth Dole Foundation to address the unique needs of non-professional caregivers of service members and veterans.  The activities aim to help participants address three common concerns among military caregivers: isolation, identify challenges and maintaining personal wellness.

This interactive module is meant to bring military-connected teens (ages 13-17) and their parents and guardians together to learn effective ways to communicate and healthy ways to cope with tough situations. Through games and discussion, participants will get to know new things about each other in a fun, active way.
