The Red Cross was born on the battlefield when Clara Barton, our founder, risked her life to support injured soldiers. More than 140 years later, we’re still working around the clock to support service members, Veterans and their families.
In commemoration of this year's Veterans Day, our Service to the Armed Forces team of staff and volunteers, along with Youth Club volunteers, participated in several community events to honor our local Veterans.
As we reflect on annual Veterans Day activites and traditions, we also remember that our commitment to the U.S. military and Veteran community goes beyond this single day. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week and 365 days a year, we provide support and resources for more than 24,000 military and veteran families to help them thrive in both their military service and civilian life.
We are also proud to have employees and volunteers -- more than 20,000 -- who continue to serve after their military service through the Red Cross, dedicating their time and expertise to our mission and making a difference in the lives of others
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Every day, men and women answer our nation’s call to serve in the armed forces. The Red Cross stands by these heroes from the day they enlist throughout their military careers and beyond.
Whether it’s guiding service members through a first deployment or connecting families to military aid financial assistance, the Red Cross is committed to supporting those who have given so much for our country.
