We are so thankful for Sanderson Farms’ support and willingness to help our community during this difficult time.
In the aftermath of the disastrous tornadoes across the Southeast region of the United States, the American Red Cross recognizes Sanderson Farms, Inc. for pledging $25,000 to aid in its recovery efforts. The company donated $25,000 to the Red Cross of South Georgia to support tornado response efforts in the Adel, GA area, which is where several of Sanderson Farms’ poultry facilities are located. Many employees who live in and around the Adel area have been directly affected and several have lost their homes due to last week’s disastrous storms and tornadoes. In addition to the monetary donation, Sanderson Farms has also donated chicken and ice to support volunteer efforts across the Southeast.
“The Red Cross of South Georgia has been working tirelessly to help Georgians recover from the deadly tornadoes that hit our region last week,” said Terri Jenkins, Executive Director of the American Red Cross of South Georgia. “We are so thankful for Sanderson Farms’ support and willingness to help our community during this difficult time. This generous donation will help the many people affected by these devastating storms including Sanderson Farms employees who were impacted by this crisis, as well as their families, neighbors and the entire community, as we work together to recover and rebuild.”
“South Georgians have experienced terrible devastation in the past week, and many of our Sanderson Farms employees have been directly affected,” said Heath Parker, Division Manager of Sanderson Farms Production Facility in Adel, Ga. “I’m proud to be part of a company that is here to support the entire community during times of need. It’s the Sanderson Way.”
