[GLYNN COUNTY] – Georgia’s Red Cross collected and processed 193,127 blood donations from generous donors last year, and it is due in part to volunteers who serve as Blood Donor Ambassadors that make this possible!
While there is always a need for more of these critical volunteers statewide we are particularly short of Ambassadors in the Glynn County area.
“Blood drive ambassadors are critical to blood donors having a streamlined and meaningful experience. They are usually the first to greet donors and the last to thank them for coming in,” said Cindi Bauer, with the American Red Cross of Georgia’s Donor Recruitment department. “They provide guidance to donors on how to register, and complete their health questions online through rapid pass and overall help donors have a pleasant experience.”
No prior experience is needed to step into this role. Training and instructions will be provided before formally entering the role.

“I support the mission of the Red Cross so it makes me proud to be part of this wonderful organization,” said Brooke Thompson, a current blood drive ambassador. “I have lived in Glynn County for over 30 years, and own my own business, all while raising five children here. As an ambassador, I can promote the mission of the Red Cross and all we do to help one another.”
