DETROIT (April 17, 2025) – The American Red Cross and Gardner White are teaming up to a hold a two-day blood drive to help people in need of lifesaving blood. Those who come to give through April 30 will be automatically entered for a chance to win a $5,000 gift card.
The Red Cross depends on volunteer donors to collect more than 12,000 blood donations nationwide every day. Blood drives like this one, now in the 25th year, make it possible for the Red Cross to help ensure hospitals are fully stocked with blood products this spring. The blood drive also coincides with National Volunteer Month in April.
The two-day blood drive will be held from 11 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, and Thursday, April 24, at Gardner White stores throughout southeast Michigan and Saginaw.
Donors of all types – especially those with type O blood and those giving platelets – are urged to give. Make an appointment at RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS or use the Red Cross Blood Donor App. Use code gardnerwhite.
All presenting donors who come to give at a Gardner White store will each receive a $50 coupon toward a purchase of $399 or more, while supplies last, and have a chance to win a $500 gift certificate. Additionally, donors will receive a Red Cross T-shirt, while supplies last, and have a chance to win a $5,000 gift card. There will be three lucky gift card winners. Learn more at rcblood.org/hope.
