Youth under the age of 13 - youth under the age of 13 cannot be registered in Volunteer Connection nor have personal information kept by the unit, but can still support the organization and be recognized as a volunteer. Youth volunteers under the age of 13 must complete a parental consent form and be accompanied by an adult for supervision. It is up to the local unit to keep track of these volunteers.
Youth aged 13-17: Youth volunteers 13 years of age or older, including Red Cross Club members, must be registered in the Volunteer Connection system. Within the Volunteer Connection system, youth volunteers will fill out an application, sign the Code of Business Ethics and Conduct and submit the Parental Consent with Media Release and the Confidential Information and Intellectual Property Agreement (CIIPA).
Red Cross Club Members: Youth who are members of a Red Cross Club are considered volunteers for the American Red Cross and must register with their unit and in Volunteer Connection. Club members under the age of 13 must complete a parental consent form. It is up to the local unit to keep track of the volunteers under the age of 13.

The North Texas Youth Services Executive Board is a group of nine youth and young adult volunteers who serve to bolster youth and young adult volunteers across the North Texas Region. They focus specifically on increasing youth opportunities and engagement, identifying and addressing youth and young adult needs, strategizing youth-focused initiatives, promoting diversity and inclusion, and supporting regional Red Cross Clubs. The Board is supported by and works closely with the North Texas Volunteer Services team.

The American Red Cross National Youth Council (NYC) is a group of thirteen youth members and two adult advisors who nationally represent and serve the youth volunteers of the American Red Cross.
