SALT LAKE CITY UT (June 25th) - The American Red Cross today recognizes CHG Healthcare for its support of the American Red Cross in Utah. A blood sponsor since 2015, CHG Healthcare has collected 300 units of blood and has grown to hosting four drives per year, generating an average of 30 units per drive. In addition, the company’s nonprofit organization, the Making a Difference Foundation, offers medical providers and employees an avenue to give back in their communities. Inspired by the Red Cross Hurricane Dorian response, the foundation also made a $48,307 disaster relief donation through their employee giving program.
According to Heidi Ruster Utah Nevada Regional Executive, “ The generous support of partners like CHG Healthcare help ensure that the Red Cross can respond immediately with comfort and care whenever and wherever disasters occur, help families during the recovery process, and ensure communities are better prepared for the next disaster. Without the local engagement of CHG Healthcare and others like them, we simply could not do the good we do.”
“Our people are passionate about giving back and go above and beyond to take care of each other and support our community,” says Scott Beck, CEO of CHG Healthcare. “I’m inspired every day by the selfless way they make a difference and the organizations they support, like the Red Cross, that provide a valuable service to the community.”
Each year, the Red Cross responds to more than 62,000 disasters across the United States, including home fires, hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, tornadoes and wildfires. Constituting nearly 90% of the humanitarian workforce of the Red Cross, are volunteers who respond to disasters nearly 170 times a day nationwide. Red Cross services are provided to people in need of assistance at no cost and regardless of income through the generosity of Red Cross donors.
