Megan Dulgar, Northwest Region CEO
SEATTLE, WA — The American Red Cross is proud to announce the appointment of Megan Dulgar as the new Regional Chief Executive Officer of the Northwest Region. Dulgar will also serve as the Executive Director for the King County Chapter, one of five chapters in the region she now leads.
“I have seen the Red Cross humanitarian mission in action across the country. It is an honor to support this work in the region I call my home. I look forward to leading the team here in the Northwest Region to achieve even stronger community connections as we alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies. And we will do it with a deepened focus on equity, providing more services to those with the greatest need,” she said.
Megan first joined the Red Cross as a volunteer in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2006, relocating to Washington with her husband in 2016. Her family now includes two young children living in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood. She most recently served as the Senior Director of Humanitarian Services Operations at Red Cross National Headquarters in Washington D.C. Previous positions include being a Regional Fundraiser, Executive Director, Division Chief Operating Officer, Division Volunteer Services Executive, and Interim Regional Executive.
As CEO of the Northwest Region, she will focus on building strong partnerships and contributing to the strength and vibrancy of communities.
Through her experience on disaster deployments, as a blood donor, and as someone who has put her Red Cross training to use to help save a life, Megan deeply understands the power of our Red Cross mission.
Megan places a strong focus on team culture and brings comprehensive experience supporting a wide range of teams to create lasting community impact. She now oversees an operation that includes almost 2,000 volunteers and 52 employees. This combined workforce responds to more than 1,000 local disasters each year; educates residents on home fire safety and emergency preparedness; deploys to disasters outside the region; supports the annual collection of approximately 33,000 units of blood; teaches lifesaving skills to tens of thousands of individuals and companies; delivers aid to international Red Cross partners and those affected by emergencies across the globe; and provides support to military members, veterans, and their families.
“We are delighted to have Megan taking over leadership of the Northwest Region,” said Cavan O’Keefe, Chair of the Board of Directors for the Red Cross King County Chapter. “Megan brings a wealth of Red Cross experience from around the country and across multiple lines of service. That’s an asset that will serve the region well, including its most vulnerable communities. We are very fortunate to have her here.”
The Northwest Region stretches from Washington’s Pacific coastline to the northern counties of Idaho’s panhandle, a landscape that offers Megan and her family endless opportunities to hike and explore, spend the day at the beach or surrounded by mountains.
