During a wildfire preparedness education visit at your home, our team will discuss wildfire safety information and provide free preparedness resources. The visit will take approximately 30 minutes. Topics covered during the visit will include:

• Wildfire safety information: What to do before, during and after a wildfire.
• Defensible space education:  Focusing on the first five feet around the residence, including removing ignitable materials and providing tips on what vegetation should be removed or better maintained to reduce fire risks.
• Developing your family’s wildfire emergency plan: Registering for local emergency alerts, downloading free emergency alert and preparedness apps, creating an evacuation plan, knowing your evacuation routes and more.
• What to do during an evacuation: What to do if an evacuation is anticipated, such as checking on neighbors, locating and securing pets and more.
• Home walkaround: A brief walk around the home with resident(s) to look at the space and discuss possible high-risk areas.
• Additional resources: Residents will also be offered a free smoke alarm installation.
