Hands Only CPR A 30 min training teaching hands-only technique for CPR. Participants learn how to check for consciousness, call 911 (or the local emergency number) and give continuous chest compressions.
Prepare with Pedro (Kindergarten–2nd Grade) A 30–45 min preparedness program for students that follows Pedro the Penguin and his friends as they learn how to be prepared and take action during an emergency.

Smoke alarm installations Home fires claim seven lives every day but having working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death by half. The Red Cross Home Fire Campaign helps save lives by installing free smoke alarms in homes that need them while providing home fire safety education, including fire escape plans.

Resiliency Workshops This free, confidential Red Cross program offers effective ways to work through challenges, improve wellbeing and build skills through small-group discussion and hands-on activities. Workshops help improve connections at home, at work and within communities. We invite active-duty service members, members of the Reserves and National Guard, veterans and military families to participate. Workshops are offered in-person or virtually.

Mind-Body Workshops We are dedicated to supporting service members, veterans and their families manage the stresses of military life. Through the creation of Mind-Body Workshops, the Red Cross teaches easy-to-use skills that connect the body with the mind to help participants cope with stress and trauma. Workshops are free and offered in small groups by licensed mental health professionals.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL): Even War has Rules In this 1-hour workshop, participants will learn four fundamental principles of IHL – military necessity, proportionality, distinction and limiting unnecessary suffering – and be able to apply these principles to understanding the rules governing conflicts around the world.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL): Born on the Battlefield This 3-hr course covers the history of the Red Cross movement and birth of modern IHL. Participants will analyze the legality of actions in armed conflicts while examining the role the Red Cross movement played in the development of IHL.

International Humanitarian Law (IHL): Youth Action Campaign This campaign empowers youth, ages 13-24, to increase public awareness around a variety of IHL topics through peer-to-peer education campaigns. Youth teams are taught how to build these campaigns and promote IHL awareness through in-person and social media activities. The 2022-2023 school year theme is The Environment and Armed Conflict.
