When Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines, it left a trail of damaged homes, hospitals and infrastructure. Ormoc’s main health facility was badly-damaged and unable to cope with the increasing needs of community members affected by the typhoon. In response, the global Red Cross network deployed a field hospital to Ormoc, where medical professionals are now treating injuries and caring for expectant mothers.
