One of the biggest leaps of faith you can take during your career is ending one job and starting the search for another. This is especially true for members of the military who have trained for years to support the mission of national defense and now seek to convert their job skills into the civilian sector.
The American Red Cross has long recognized the unique skillsets, leadership capabilities and mission focus that veterans bring to the civilian workforce. In recent years we have partnered with organizations like Hiring our Heroes and the Military Spouse Employment Program to assist veterans, transitioning military personnel and their spouses in finding employment. Our commitment continues with the recent addition of a military occupational specialty (MOS) translator to our Red Cross Careers site.
“A career at the Red Cross allows me to continue to serve my community and my country,” said Gerald Thomas, Major, USMC, Retired and Manager, Strategic Planning and Program Management. “This position affords me the opportunity to support my friends and neighbors who live close by and the men and women in the military serving around the world.”
