The Red Cross is providing financial assistance to households whose homes were confirmed to have been destroyed or sustained major damage by Hurricane Ian.
Many families across Florida now face the daunting task of recovering from Hurricane Ian’s devastation. Thousands of homes have been severely damaged or destroyed, and hundreds of people remain in emergency shelters.
As communities begin to rebuild, the Red Cross will remain by their sides, helping those in need regain a sense of normalcy and standing with them along the road to recovery.

Anxiety was growing for Imani Miley, Serenity's mom, as Hurricane Ian approached their home in nearby St Petersburg. She survived Hurricane Irma just a few years ago, but that was before she had the added responsibility of a young daughter. She was relieved when her friend called and told her about the evacuation shelter at the Ross Norton Community Center. "They're really nice here," said Miley pointing towards Martha Narvaez with a smile. "I can appreciate this."
