Since our founding by Clara Barton on May 21, 1881, the American Red Cross has been dedicated to serving people in need. We received our first congressional charter in 1900 and to this day we are tasked by the federal government with providing services to members of the American armed forces and their families as well as providing disaster relief in the United States and around the world. Many more programs have been added to our roster of services since our founding, but the fact is that none of them could be accomplished without the power of our volunteers and the generosity of our donors.
Clara Barton once said, “Offering a hand up is not a hand-out.” Philanthropy and foundations have the potential to demonstrate practices that others might follow. In recent months, we’ve seen some foundations and trusts step up their grantmaking to meet the unpredictable challenges posed by a pandemic, combined with natural and man-made disasters such as California Wildfires, Atlantic Hurricanes, Midwest Derechos, and much more. In this tide of anxiety, the Red Cross continues its work. We encourage you to join the ranks of some of our most generous donors.
We’d like to express our heartfelt gratitude and recognize the following donors for their ongoing support!
