The American Red Cross interacts with the public through community events, local, national and international media, as well as via advertising, public relations and social media. These communication tasks are essential to maintaining our commitment to transparency as an organization, as well as to attracting and motivating financial donors, blood donors and volunteers.
Please consider these volunteer positions if you are outgoing, empathetic, and self-motivated with excellent interpersonal skills. We often need volunteers with specialized skills such as photography, videography or social media; a portfolio of work samples may be required for these positions. A background in public relations, marketing, advertising, social media or similar is helpful but not required.
Work location will vary by position and may include your local Red Cross facility, working out in the community, or working from home. Time commitments also vary by position and your availability.
All necessary training will be provided.
I love being able to use my communication skills and background to help the Red Cross tell their story in a meaningful way.
