Volunteers are essential to the work of the Red Cross, including at the leadership level. Volunteers serve on chapter and regional boards of directors, advisory boards, and fill other executive functions. Additional leadership opportunities for volunteers occur at the department level within chapters and at national headquarters.
If you have proven team-building skills and upper management or supervisory experience, particularly in a volunteer organization, please consider a leadership role with the Red Cross. Knowledge of and influence within your local community will be helpful. Whether contributing strategic guidance or leading a team of volunteers, your effective leadership will help increase our effectiveness as an organization.
Work location will vary by position and may include your local Red Cross facility, working out in the community, or working from home. Time commitments also vary by position.
All necessary training will be provided.
I think all the skills I learned in my career life I’ve been able to use volunteering for the Red Cross. Planning, being innovative, being able to give someone answers. Being able to help somebody.
